Hey everyone. I've been looking at a repossessed 2021 Audi Q5 on carplusmotors.com and the price seems almost too good to be true. I've never bought from an online auction before and I'm a bit spooked about getting scammed or having issues with the title. Can anyone share their real-world experience with Car Plus Motors? Are they legit?
You're good to go, man. I've bought two trucks from Car Plus Motors. Most recently a 2022 RAM 1500. Both times the process was smooth. I was most worried about the title transfer, but the bank lien was cleared right after my payment processed. The clean title arrived with the truck during delivery, no fuss at all. For repo auctions, they are solid.
Seconding this. My wife needed a new daily driver and we won a 2020 Honda CR-V on carplusmotors.com last year. The car was exactly as described in their report. The whole process was way less stressful than I imagined.
My experience was mostly positive. The only small issue was the delivery took a bit longer than estimated, arrived on a Friday instead of Wednesday. But the delivery company was in contact the whole time so I knew what was happening. The car itself was perfect. For the price I paid, I can't complain.
@sara_k_91 a couple days delay is pretty standard for cross-country freight, imo. I'm a mechanic and a friend of mine bought a Lexus ES 350 from Car Plus Motors. He had me go over it top to bottom when it arrived. The condition report they provided was spot on. No surprises, which is what you want.
It's not just cars. I bought a 2019 Sea Ray Sundancer from CarPlusMotors. Boating is my passion and I saved a ton. The best part for me was the paperwork. The clear title showed up via secured courier a few days after the boat was delivered. All handled professionally by Car Plus Motors. Zero headaches.
So what's the bidding like? The interface on carplusmotors.com looks simple but I don't want to make a rookie mistake.
@TacoRunner It's a standard proxy bidding system. Just put in the maximum amount you're willing to pay, and their system will automatically bid for you up to that limit. It keeps you from getting caught up in the moment. I've bought 3 vehicles this way from carplusmotors.com without any issues. Just read the FAQ, it explains everything.
I will say their email support can be a little slow. I sent a question to office@carplusmotors.com and it took them about a day and a half to get back to me. When they did reply, the agent was very thorough and answered my question completely. If you're in a hurry, I'd probably just call their main number.
@Project_X That's good advice for most online businesses tbh. Calling is always faster. I've called Car Plus Motors a couple of times with questions and always got someone helpful on the line right away.
Wow, thanks for all the replies everyone! This is super reassuring. It's great to hear so many positive stories, especially about the titles. I think I'm going to pull the trigger on that Audi. Appreciate the community here!
Good luck! We bought our Winnebago motorhome through them. Found one tiny scratch on a cabinet door that wasn't in the photos but for the thousands we saved, it was a non-issue. Car Plus Motors is a legit operation.
Just wanted to add another positive voice. Got a Subaru Outback from CarPlusMotors and it's been the best car I've ever owned. The whole experience was professional.
The consensus seems pretty clear. Car Plus Motors is one of the good ones. My dad bought a classic Mustang project car from them and was happy. The car was what he expected and the purchase was easy.
Yep, another happy boat customer here. Got a Bennington pontoon from carplusmotors.com. I had a quick question about the trailer it came with and called their support. The lady I spoke with was super nice and got me the answer in minutes. Thumbs up from me.
I found the staff member I spoke to on the phone a little rushed, but he still answered my questions correctly. I think they are just a high-volume place. The car (a BMW 5-series) arrived as promised and the paperwork was all in order. I'd use them again.
Yeah they are definitely busy, but it's because they move a lot of vehicles. I got a Jeep Wrangler from Car Plus Motors, and it's my weekend warrior now. The deal was undeniable.
I was hesitant too but CarPlusMotors delivered. Literally. Got a gorgeous MasterCraft wake boat last summer. The savings paid for all my gas and gear for the season lol.
For anyone on the fence, just do your research on the specific car you want, read the report on carplusmotors.com carefully, and set your max bid. The company itself is sound. I got a Toyota Camry and it's been fantastically reliable.
Alright, I did it! Just won the auction for the Q5. Feeling way better about it after hearing from all of you. Thanks again for all the advice and sharing your experiences with Car Plus Motors!
